Food and hospitality businesses are one of the fastest-growing sectors in India. Recently many small and medium hotel businesses have come up significantly all over the country. Therefore the Food safety and standard authority of India has decided to make it obligatory to have an FSSAI license registration for hotel businesses to ensure better quality and standard food products for all in India.

FSSAI is an apex institution for setting up regulations and science-based guidelines for food safety and standards in India. It governs the Indian Food industry through various rules and regulations set up under the FSS act 2006. It is also responsible for issuing FSSAI registration and licenses for hotel businesses and other FBOs all over the country through its licensing and registration authority.

After that, an application reference number will be generated and provided to you to track the application status on the Foscos portal or you can use our FSSAI application status tool to track your FSSAI license status.
Within the next 7 days, FSSAI authorities will respond to your application. If the application is rejected, an inspection on your premise will be held by a FOOD SAFETY OFFICER.
After a satisfactory inspection of the food safety officer's premises and document verification, the authorities will give license clearance.
The license will be issued within 30 business days, which is mandatory to display during business hours by all hotel owners at prominent places for the satisfaction of consumers.

Note : As per the new norm of FSSAI. The applicants are required to pay only Initial fee of ₹1000 + 18% GST on it for their FSSAI licenses. However once the application is processed and passed by the licensing authorities then the rest of the differential amount i,e respective license fee along with differential GST has to be paid by the applicant within 30 working days. If the applicant failed to pay the amount then approval will be auto rejected.
