Food Safety and Standard Authority of India is a regulatory body governed by the FSS regulations 2011; FSSAI was established in 2006 to modulate the food industry in India via scientific means and curtail illicit practices of adulteration of food, for all the FBOs in Ghaziabad it is strictly mandatory to have an FSSAI registration in Ghaziabad as per the FSS Act 2006.

All petty FBOs with a turnover up to ₹12 lakh per annum must obtain FSSAI basic registration in Ghaziabad. The applicant is required to fill Form A.
FBOs with a turnover of more than ₹12 lakh and up to ₹20 crore per annum are expected to have an FSSAI state license to operate in Ghaziabad.
Food business operators operating in multiple states or with a turnover of more than ₹20 crore per annum must obtain a FSSAI central license in Ghaziabad by filling Form B.

Within 7 working days after applying, authorities might order an inspection of the premise if the application is rejected.
After the satisfactory inspection of the premise and document verification by the food safety officer, clearance will be given by authorities to issue registration certificates for concerned FBOs.
Once the clearance is given, FSSAI will issue a registration certification with a uniform 14-digit unique number along with the FSSAI logo, which can be displayed during business hours and must be printed on all the products.
FSSAI Basic Registration applies to small food businesses with an annual turnover of up to ₹12 lakh. Below are the required documents:
FBOs with an annual turnover between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 crore must obtain an FSSAI State License.
Note: It is important to note that manufacturers & marketers are required to get an FSSAI State License irrespective of minimum turnover limit.
FBOs with an annual turnover exceeding ₹20 crore or operating in multiple states must have an FSSAI Central License.

Note : As per the new norm of FSSAI. The applicants are required to pay only Initial fee of ₹1000 + 18% GST on it for their FSSAI licenses. However once the application is processed and passed by the licensing authorities then the rest of the differential amount i,e respective license fee along with differential GST has to be paid by the applicant within 30 working days. If the applicant failed to pay the amount then approval will be auto rejected.
