As per the guideliens the certifiate is only issued to the original manufacturers of the product.

• Test Report for the product
• Undertaking regarding the product
• ISO Certificate of the manufacturer
• Product manual of the applied devices
• Trademark Certificate if available or required
• Testing documents such as filled CCL and CDF
• Authorized Indian Representative and Affidavit (In case of Foreign Manufacturer)
• Trademark Authorisation Letter, in case the brand, is not owned by the manufacturer
• If the signatory person is other than the head of the manufacturing facility, then submit the Authorisation Letter

Foreign Manufacturers and Non-MSME entities are required to pay an additional fee of ₹ 10,000 for their BIS CRS application.

The process of BIS CRS Registration for Electronics in India can be categorized into the following steps:

Step-1: Identification of product IS

BIS has established quality standards for all the products listed under its schemes and applicants are required to identify the right IS standard for their product for which they want to get a BIS quality Certificate.

Step-2: Details & Documentation

Once the IS standards are identified for the specific products. Applicants are required to produce various documents during the filing of application. Such as a test report for their products from BIS certified labs. All the documents should be enclosed properly as the BIS CRS registration will be awarded after the thorough verification & inspection of documents and premises.

Step-3: Submission of application fee

Once the application is duly filled and applicants are required to pay initial application fee at the time of submission of application.

Step-4: Issuance of CRS certification

Once the application is submitted to the BIS licensing authorities, BIS registration will be issued within 20-25 days after inspection and verification.
