EMD Calculation Formula Used
The EMD Calculator uses the standard Earnest Money Deposit formula prescribed for GeM tenders and auctions. The deposit is simply a fixed percentage of the estimated tender value:
Formula Explained
- Tender Value — the estimated total value of the bid as mentioned in the tender document.
- EMD Percentage — the rate specified in the bid document. On GeM this is generally between 0.5% (minimum) and 2%–5% (maximum), with 1% being the most common standard rate.
- EMD Amount — the final Earnest Money Deposit you need to submit along with your bid.
