The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing of the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, is required to issue the WPC ETA Certificate for Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Bulbs. The Procedure for Obtaining a WPC ETA Certificate can be seen as follows:
Conducting a Radio Frequency Test is a mandatory step to be Completed in an Authorized Indian Laboratory. RF Test Results have to be submitted at the time of the Application process which consists of the frequency range of a particular product.
Online process will start after filling an application at Saral Sanchar Portal (Simplified Application for Registration and License). The applicant needs to login first and then fill in the asked details. During filing, add mandatory personal, business, and equipment details.
Necessary documents are asked to be submitted at the time for the application process for further proceedings.
A particular amount is asked to be paid for the procedure as the fee.The fee differs from Product to Product.
After Filing an application for the ETA Certificate, your documents will be examined by a WPC officer to check whether the documents meets the criteria of issuing the Certificate or not. The Issuance of ETA Certificate is based on the documents you have submitted and the Radio Frequency Test Results of your product.
All wireless equipment must be designed and manufactured to ensure that its emission bandwidth and other technical parameters remain within the specified limits, per the WPC Wing notification. Type Approval is required for such equipment. The Central Government must receive an application in the required format in order to grant this approval (WPC ETA Approval).
