- If the renewal application is not submitted before the stipulated time, the certificate becomes expired and the Food Business Operator starts applying for a new one so that the business can continue.
- The Vegan Certification Committee will go through the application and all the documents submitted with the aim of determining whether they are compliant with the vegan standards.
- In case of successful renewal the Food Business Operator shall be issued the renewed Vegan Certificate which shall be valid for 1 to 5 Years as desired by the Food Business Operator from the date of issue.

To renew a vegan food certificate under FSSAI, the following conditions must be met:
- A Food Business Operator (Food Business Operator) needs to apply for renewal of license to the concerned licensing authority not less than 30 days before the expiry of the existing certificate.
