The main documents required for ODOP GeM Registration are:

Lots of categories of potential beneficiaries can register. Solo craftsmen, SHGs, Udyam-registered micro-businesses, cooperative societies, proprietors, private limited companies, LLPs, and startups recognised by DPIIT, and micro-processing units under PMFME all have the opportunity to register. For most categories, the default requirement is both GST registration and Aadhaar-based KYC. Also, for startups registered with DPIIT, they may get the benefit of exemptions and additional preferences in the process of onboarding. GeM employs three principal procurement modes. For direct purchases, orders can go up to 50,000. Buyers choose any listed seller meeting the specs, no comparison required. L1 comparison is for orders above 50,000, where the system picks the lowest price that qualifies; at least three manufacturers and three traders should be present for a valid comparison.

Push Button Procurement (PBP) is not a different mode; instead, it’s a suboption of L1 comparison, mainly used for orders up to 5 lakh, where the system automatically chooses the L1 seller without the buyer having to do it. A bid or reverse auction is for big orders, where sellers offer different prices and delivery terms in an open tender. As per the Department of Expenditure order dated May 2024, the direct purchase limit was increased from 25,000 to 50,000, and the L1 procedures now cover up to 10 lakh.
