Applicants must pay the prescribed TEPC membership fee to obtain the RCMC (Registration Cum Membership Certificate). The fee ranges from ₹7,965 to ₹29,500, inclusive of 18% GST, depending on the applicable membership category. TEPC also known as Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council is a non-profit organization set up under the Foreign Trade Policy by the Government of India under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to promote and facilitate the export of telecom equipment and related services from India. DGFT Public Notice No. 49/2015-2020 dated 9th January 2023 created Mobile and Electronic Devices Export Promotion Council (MEDEPC), and specific mobile device and electronic categories such as smartphones, monitors, printers, memory cards, and mobile parts were reallocated from TEPC to MEDEPC.

Following DGFT Public Notice No. 49/2015-2020 dated 9th January 2023, the Government of India created the Mobile and Electronic Devices Export Promotion Council (MEDEPC) and reallocated specific product categories from TEPC to MEDEPC with immediate effect.
