The Registration Process of B&Bs under the Ministry of Tourism is as follows-

Step 1: Registration ID Creation: The first step to register a B&B on the NIDHI Portal is to generate an ID by filling out the details of the B&B as well as the owner. The registration ID is a unique differentiator for the B&B, and it must be kept safely for further use.
Step 2: Pledge certificate issuance: A Pledge Certificate is issued to the B&Bs by the Ministry of Tourism. It is the compliance document issued on the NIDHI Portal. It ensures a pledge for safe and sustainable tourism.
Step 3: Police NOC: Owners must apply for a Police NOC as it is an important registration document that needs to be submitted.
Step 4: Property showcase: The next step is the showcase of the property to the Police authorities. This is important for the issuance of a No-objection Certificate.
Step 5: Mock assessment and site verification: The mock assessment and Site verification round is conducted by authorities to check the B&B property. All the requirements must be fulfilled by the unit as per the applicable category.
Step 6: Inspection schedule: An inspection is to be scheduled by the officials, where they will verify all the claims made by the B&B owners.
Step 7: Quorum: The Quorum includes 1 member from state tourism, 1 from central tourism and 1 from the notified associations.
Step 8: NC can be raised by the department: Depending on the deficiency, NC (Non-compliance) can be raised by the MoT. It must be reverted to within the specified deadline.
Step 9: Re-submission of the application: After solving the raised queries, applicants need to resubmit their application.
Step 10: Issuance of inspection report: An inspection report will be issued to applicants stating the remarks and suggestions from the side of MoT officials.
Step 11: Issuance of B&B Certificate: The final step is the issuance of the B&B Certificate by the officials to the B&B in Uttarakhand.

The Registration Process of Bed & Breakfast (B&B) in Uttarakhand is as follows:

Step 1: Apply Online for B&B Registration : For Uttarakhand B&B Registration, apply via the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board official portal. B&B Owners can also submit their application to the DTDO of their area. DTDO is the registering authority of the area. The basic details that need to be put up include name, address, Date of Birth, mobile number and email. An OTP code will be shared on the registered mobile number and email address.
Step 2: Category Selection of the Lodging : The applicants need to choose the category of lodging they wish to register with the Tourism Board of Uttarakhand. Different categories include hotels, B&Bs or Resorts.
Step 3: Upload Documents : The next step is to upload all the required documents along with location details. These documents are important & required to be submitted carefully without any false information. All documents must be self-attested by the applicant. Step 4: Pay the Registration Fees : A registration fee needs to be paid by business owners. They need to pay the fee depending on the type of classification of their B&B. The classification is either gold or silver, depending on the amenities provided and the quality of the B&B. Applicants submitting the form physically need to pay the fee as a Demand Draft payable to the Accounts Officer at Uttarakhand’s Tourism Board.
Step 5: Track Application Status : After the submission of the application, business owners can easily track the status of their application. Here, they can see whether their application is under review, processed or passed to the next stage. All documents need to be self-attested by the applicant, as that is a basic necessity.
Step 6: Site Inspection of the B&B : Authorities verify the documents and applications of B&B owners. A Site inspection is bound to take place after this step. Officials from the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board inquire about the B&B and check for the claims that were made by owners in the application.
