- Step 1: Registration ID Creation: The first step to register a B&B on the NIDHI Portal is to generate an ID by providing the B&B's and its owner's details. The registration ID is a unique identifier for the B&B, and it must be kept safely for further use.
- Step 2: Pledge certificate issuance: A Pledge Certificate is issued to the B&Bs by the Ministry of Tourism. It is the compliance document issued on the NIDHI Portal. It ensures a pledge for safe and sustainable tourism.
- Step 3: Police NOC: Owners must apply for a Police NOC, as it is an important registration document that needs to be submitted.
- Step 4: Property showcase: The next step is the showcase of the property to the Police authorities. This is important for the issuance of a No-objection Certificate.
- Step 5: Mock assessment and site verification: The mock assessment and Site verification round is conducted by authorities to check the B&B property. All the requirements must be fulfilled by the unit as per the applicable category.
- Step 6: Inspection schedule: An inspection is to be scheduled by the officials, where they will verify all the claims made by the B&B owners.
- Step 7: Quorum: The Quorum includes 1 member from state tourism, 1 from central tourism and 1 from the notified associations.
- Step 8: NC can be raised by the department: Depending on the deficiency, NC (Non-compliance) can be raised by the MoT. It must be reverted to within the specified deadline.
- Step 9: Re-submission of the application: After solving the raised queries, applicants need to resubmit their application.
- Step 10: Issuance of inspection report: An inspection report will be issued to applicants stating the remarks and suggestions from the side of MoT officials.
- Step 11: Issuance of B&B Certificate: The final step is the issuance of the B&B Certificate by the officials to the B&B in Punjab.
B&B Registration Process under the Department of Tourism in Punjab
The registration process for Bed & Breakfast units under the Department of Tourism in Punjab is as follows-
- Step 1: Fill out the application form: First step is to fill out the online application form on the online portal of the Department of Tourism. All B&B owners must fill correct information regarding the details of their unit.

1. List of documents required for B&B Registration under the Department of Tourism in Punjab is as follows-
- Duly filled application form (Annexure I)

Minimum Requirements For B&B Registration in Punjab
There are few Guidelines on which basis a B&B can be established in Punjab. The application for B&B will be accepted if:
- If the applicant or Owner resides with his/her family at the same property.
- If there is a minimum one room with two beds and maximum six rooms with twelve beds.
- If the type of food being served and charges will display in advance & visitors will be informed earlier.

- One Feedback & Complaint Book Should be maintained to officials during the visits.
Physical Inspection for B&B Registration in Punjab
Before providing a permit to Bed & Breakfast, an inspection is completed to ensure the accurate information & maintenance of the area. This inspection is carried out after submitting documents by Tourism Development Corporation Officials. They have the right to visit and inspect the location during the registration process.
They inspect each and everything regarding Bed & Breakfast such as location, hospitality, ventilation, etc of the property. If the Tourism Development Corporation Officials found anything wrong or any false information provided by the applicant, they cancel the registration on the spot of that B&B.
