The Government E-marketplace, also known as GeM, is an online marketplace on which micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), sellers, and service providers can list their goods and services for potential buyers to purchase. Most of the procurement through the GeM portal is carried out by centralised and state-owned entities.
GeM aims to make the process of acquiring goods and services through the public procurement system more efficient and open to scrutiny by simplifying and standardising it.
GeM portal registration is an essential step for all MSMEs who want to sell their products to the government-owned entities. The primary objective of the GeM website is to enhance the transparency and effectiveness of government employment and procurement processes.
