Starting a food business requires multiple licenses and certifications depending upon the scale of the business. An FSSAI license is one of the most important steps. To obtain an FSSAI/Food License in Delhi, Food Business Operators (FBOs) need to apply online through the FoSCoS Portal. FSSAI, or the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, is the government body responsible for issuing food registration licenses in Delhi and ensuring regulatory compliance for food businesses.
The food license application process includes selecting the state as Delhi, choosing the appropriate kind of food business, preparing and uploading the required documents, and completing the online form with all necessary details. The application is generally processed within 30 to 60 days, depending on the type of food license and the accuracy of the submission. The stages of the FSSAI registration process, as followed by the government authority, include document verification, issuance of a Non-Conformity Report (if any discrepancies are found), physical inspection of the premises by an FSSAI officer, followed by approval or rejection of the application. Upon approval of the food license in Delhi, the FSSAI certificate is issued, and the Food Business Operator (FBO) is legally permitted to commence business operations.
