CECA is an abbreviation for "Comprehensive Economic cooperation Agreement. It's an international pact with the goal of easing restrictions on commercial activity and boosting exchanges of products and services among the signatory nations.
India-Australia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) is a free trade agreement between India and Australia. The agreement aims to promote trade and investment between the two countries by reducing or eliminating tariffs on a wide range of goods and services, and by establishing rules and regulations to facilitate trade.

To trade with foreign nations under the unique preferential status of the CECA agreement, an exporter must first complete the CECA registration process. This agreement allows for traffic reduction, which is advantageous for exporters of various goods and services.
Exporters can obtain the certificate of origin from government organisations like the DGFT, the Indian Spices Board, and other apex entities that are recognised by the government.
Rules of origin are agreed upon by the signatory parties to determine the origin of exported product from the respective countries.
Proof of origin refers to documentation or evidence that verifies the place of origin or manufacture of a product or goods. This type of documentation is often required in international trade to verify the country of origin of goods.
Exporters are required to give evidence of the Product's origin by any of the following means:-
1 - Account ID creation:-An account will be created on the DGFT site using DSC or any other recognized government portal to apply for CECA certification.
2 - Documentation:- When applying, the applicant must provide verifiable documents and any pertinent paperwork to corroborate the authenticity of their products.
3 - Verification & authorization:- The issuing authority will assess and conduct a full inspection through a risk management system to verify & authenticate the origin of the Product.
4 - Certification:- Once the approval has been given following verification and inspection. Authorities will issue a CECA certificate, also known as a Certificate of origin. As per the CECA agreement's established norms certificate should be in English. The certificate must contain all the necessary information about the Product and the exporting entity.
The cost of registering the CECA certificate, which includes our professional fees, is 3,236 rupees. The validity of the registration is upto 12 months from the date of it's issuance.
Exporters can apply for re-issuance of the certificate of origin once the validity period has expired.
