Shops Selling Non Essential Goods to open from 25 April 2020 – MHA Order
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has allowed shops selling non-essential goods to open from Saturday 25 April 2020 onwards, in all nok contaminated Zones. This order is applicable to shops in market complexes under the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said “all shops, including neighbourhood shops and standalone shops, shops in residential complexes, within the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities, registered under the Shops and Establishment Act of the respective State and UT” will be allowed to open during the lockdown.
The local salons and parlours will be allowed to operate from Saturday, 25 April 2020. Big shops and brands – whether single or multiple outlets – as well as marketplaces will remain closed. Liquor shops will not be opening, as alcohol is governed under a separate clause and not under the Shops and Establishment Act. Market complexes like Malls and Shopping Complexes will not be allowe to open
under the Shops and Establishment Act of the respective states and union territories.
